Raj breaks through the 1000 mark! |
|
2007-07-30 Birmingham Brazilian Soccer Schools student Raj Garcha, recently became one of the youngest children in the UK to achieve the mile-stone of performing over 1,000 unbroken keepy-uppies. The personal-best score of 1079 was set just a few days after his 8th birthday.
Raj, who recently signed for Walsall FC's youth Academy, said: "It's a good job someone else was counting, I thought I'd done over four thousand! I do enjoy practicing with the ball at home and at Brazilian Soccer Schools." Raj is no stranger to performing under pressure, as last year he demonstrated his ball juggling skills in front of none-other-than the King of Football - Pelé. Brazilian Soccer Schools Head Coach, Jon Collins, believes that if the Birmingham youngster continues to improve at such a staggering rate, he may just be the youngest player to make it into the Brazilian Futebol Academy (BFA). |

Dean, 16, follows in the foot steps of legends |
|
2007-07-28 At just 16 years of age, Dean Elsmore of Brazilian Soccer Schools Birmingham, became one of the youngest ever players to represent 'The Worlds Most Famous Non-League Football Club' - Garforth Town AFC.
Having noted Dean's progress since joining BSS Birmingham, Garforth manager Simon Clifford, asked Head Coach Jon Collins if Dean would like to make his debut for the Unibond League side in a pre-season friendly against Northern Counties East team - Worsborough Bridge FC. On Thursday 26th July, Dean came on with half-an-hour to go, and settled in well playing up-front as a lone striker. In doing so, the former Derby County Academy player followed in the foot steps of two of his Brazilian World Cup Heroes; 'Careca' and 'Socrates', who both made 'Special Guest Appearances' for Garforth in 2005. |
