Brazilian Soccer School coaches from across the world came together last week for the 12th annual International Confederation of Futebol de Salão (ICFDS) coaching course.

Coaches from Birmingham to Bangkok met in Leeds and were introduced to scores of new training drills, initiatives and practices designed to help develop the football skills of children throughout the world.

The head coaches at all ICFDS Brazilian Soccer Schools receive 80 hours tuition every year to continually raise the high standard of training at the schools and last week was an integral part of that quota.

Brazilian Soccer Schools graduate John Bostock scored a very special goal for England’s U19s in their European Championships semi final match-up with Spain.
 
Replacing an injured teammate, Bostock only entered the game after 18 minutes, but just 19 minutes later he made an impressive mark on the game. With the Spanish defence battling to keep England’s attackers from bringing the ball under control Bostock timed his supporting run well and found himself ideally positioned to strike as the loose ball dropped from the air.
 
Twenty-five yards from goal, Bostock still had a lot to do, but his technique was perfect and he expertly controlled a left-footed volley into the bottom right corner.

 BSS Sunderland graduate Greg Rutherford is making big strides into professional football after signing full scholarship forms for English League One side Hartlepool FC.

Greg has been training with BSS Sunderland since he was 8 years old and has worked extremely hard under the tutelage of Brazilian Soccer Schools Sunderland Head Coach, Steve Nichol.

Greg is the latest in a long list of players to graduate from BSS Sunderland into the professional game. England Youth Internationals Oliver Hotchkiss and Bruno Pilatos have also progressed through the Soccer School and many more talented young players are working hard to follow suit.
