ICFDS Code of Ethics for Parents

During the coaching hours of any Brazilian Soccer School, the Head Coach and coaching staff have full responsibility for the children within our care. For this reason, ICFDS reserve the right for their coaching staff to have full authority for the coaching of your children during ICFDS sessions.

We ask therefore that you agree to and respect the following guidelines;

>
Once the sessions start and for the full duration of the sessions, only ICFDS coaching staff and the children attending the course may enter the pitch area.Juggling live on Sky Sports

>
There will be ample viewing areas available and parents are welcome to watch the coaching sessions although our experience of coaching sessions has showed us, that in general, children are more focused when their parents are not present.

If the children are to get the most from our sessions, it is important that the only instructive voices they hear are the coaches.

>
We ask therefore that parents save their comments until after the coaching sessions have finished.

> If you need to speak to your child during sessions, please speak with one of the coaching team first.

>
We only have limited contact time with the children and we would like to use this time fully. It will help us to do this if you can deliver your children promptly.

> Please be prepared to collect your child 10 minutes after the session finishes. This will give them time for a proper warm-down and they can help with the tidying away of equipment.

>  We welcome comments from you and coaches will be available prior to and at the end of coaching sessions. In the case of Matches these guidelines still apply, but please also be aware of the following points:

Ball Balance>  Remember, young people are involved in soccer for their enjoyment, not yours.

> Encourage your child always to play by the Laws of the Game.

>
Teach young children that honest endeavour is as important as winning, so that the result of each game is accepted without disappointment.

> Help young people to work towards skill improvement and good sportsmanship.

>
Set a good example by applauding good play on both sides.

>
Never ridicule, humiliate or shout at young players for making a mistake or losing a match.

> Do not place emphasis on winning at all costs. In youth football the priority is always technical development and skill acquisition.

> Do not force an unwilling child to participate in the playing of sport. If the child is to play, he / she will do so in good time through your encouragement. There are other aspects of sport other than playing which are equally fulfilling.

>
Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sport. Support all efforts to rid football of sexism and racism.

>
As a spectator, do not use profane language or harass referees, coaches or players.

>
Do not publicly question the referees’ judgement and never their honesty.

>
Recognise the value and importance of volunteer referees and coaches. They give of their time and resources to provide recreational activities for young people.

>
Encourage in your child an appreciation of mutual respect for team-mates and opponents.

Thank you for your co-operation.
